Loading Toys is a fairly new player in the 1/6 action figure arena. They recently released a 1/6 kit called Dangerous Man featuring a head sculpt with actor Daniel Craig‘s likeness. It’s odd, though, that the words “Dangerous Man” is nowhere seen on the package. But it doesn’t really matter – they could have called this “Lover Boy” or “Macho Man” and I still would have bought it :-)
It may seem odd to many, who expect to see a James Bond kit come with the tuxedo and all, to see Daniel Craig in jeans and a rugged jacket. I believe Loading Toys was aiming to reproduce the character as seen on this scene from the latest Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
The kit comes in a really nice, fancy box with foam compartments for each part.
The parts that came with the kit include:
- 1 x Head Sculpt
- 1 x Black Shirt
- 1 x Blue Jacket
- 1 x Denim Jeans
- 1 x Lettering version P99
- 1 x P99 Silencer
- 1 x 511 Low Caliga
I personally would have settled for a less flamboyant packaging had it come with an actual 1/6 body for the same price.
The head sculpt bears a very good likeness of actor Daniel Craig (who currently is the reigning James Bond). It fits perfectly well on to a Hot Toys TrueType body.
The Walther P99 comes with a silencer and is sculpted with great detail.
The tailoring of the outfit is very good. I’m not sure if I was just lucky, but mine did not have any loose stitching or frayed edges on any of the clothing. The oversized zipper on the jacket is a bit of an eyesore but somehow becomes less bothersome after a while.
The length of the jeans is just right on the Hot Toys TrueType body. But I do recall Shaun Wong mentioning that it didn’t work quite as well on a Saturday Toys body.
The shoes looks great and even comes with real shoelace. But trying to lace up something this small can be a pain.
Overall, I think Loading Toys has delivered a good product. I’m pretty happy with my decision to purchase this kit and will keep Loading Toys in my radar.
