Hot Toys recently announced that they were to release a 3rd version of The Joker under their Movie Masterpieces: The Dark Knight series. This version was to be clothed in a police uniform depicting the movie scene where the Joker takes an assassination attempt against the Gotham City Mayor. But apart from a teaser photo that barely revealed the Joker’s face, not much else have been provided by Hot Toys in terms of details or clues about the upcoming figure.
Maybe so, until now…

I got home today and saw a FedEx envelope on my desk sent to me by Hot Toys. In it was a forensic evidence bag containing a piece of fabric. On one side, you can see a label with some scribbled information. On the opposite side is a sticker with the word “evidence” and a control number in red ink. Are these clues about the new Joker figure provided to us by Hot Toys?
What do the numbers mean? The case number, the place where evidence was found and the offense number all could be clues. The control number seem to suggest a date – is it the target release date? It seems too soon, given what little I know of Hot Toys’ usual timetable.

And what about the piece of fabric? Is it a swatch of the actual fabric Hot Toys will be using? Or is it a clue for something else?

This evidence bag could also be a sample of an actual accessory that will come packed with the figure. Or not – I honestly have no idea.
Any of you have any theories? Please share them with us by posting on the comments section below. I never realized that receiving forensic evidence leads to more questions than answers.
