Zack Snyder reveals the 'Watchmen' Cast
* Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan
* Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian
* Patrick Wilson as Dan/Night Owl
* Malin Akerman as Laurie
* Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach
* Stephen McHattie as Hollis Mason
Snyder remarked that Dr. Manhattan will be CG after the accident happens, because "I didn't want to see someone with blue paint all over their body, which was actually discussed. We needed someone who could glow, and who would look awesome when they grow to 200 feet and are stomping through the jungles of Vietnam."

This is great news. Great timing for me. I'm in the process of finishing the TPB. A very very good read., I would recommend it to everyone.
Allan Moore is a genius.
About the cast, I'm only familiar with Billy Cudrup, who had appeared with Brad Pitt in "Sleepers", the other actors are unfamiliar

bloody hell, he is! alan moore is god!
billy crudup i know from almost famous, and patrick wilson is apparently from the last phantom of the opera movie (as with 300's leonidas). it seems zack snyder is casting not according to star power (which is good, imo). i can't really see tom cruise as adrian veidt and i'm crossing my fingers he doesn't get cast as veidt.
speaking of which, here's a viral promotional website for the movie:

Frewer Is Moloch In "Watchmen"
MTV News reports that Matt Frewer -- best known as the stuttering, sarcastic, 80's icon Max Headroom -- has joined the cast of the eagerly anticipated "Watchmen" film.
The 49-year-old thesp will suit up as Moloch the Mystic, a satanic super villain and magician. The character is noted for his devilish appearance, which includes elfish, pointed ears.
In the graphic novel, Moloch clashes with famous "masks" like Nite Owl, Ozymandias, and Doctor Manhattan, before giving up his life of crime sometime before the action of the novel begins.
Rehabilitated, the former vice lord moves to New York City, where he lives alone until his murder in 1985. His dead body is discovered by Rorschach, who is framed for Moloch's death.
Frewer is currently filming his scenes. The film is scheduled to open on March 6th 2009.
