I've thought of this before, but I never imagined it would really happen. I thought the Spurs would give Kobe a hard time, but they didn't. The Celtics are 2-0 against the Lakers in the season, but this is the finals, it's a different ball game. Can't wait for this..

I think Gasol is not yet with the Lakers when they lost to the Celtics.

Would Bulls trade No.1 pick for Wade?
Dwayne Wade

Dwyane Wade says he keeps hearing his name mentioned in trade rumors involving the Bulls and Miami Heat. Would the Bulls give up the No. 1 draft position to the Heat in exchange for Wade and the No. 2 overall selection? Or some combination of other players and picks?

"I have a lot of history with the Bulls," Wade said. "And for them to come out with the first pick like that (with a 1.7 percent lottery chance) ... it was fitting that they would do something like that. Nobody thought that would happen. To be in that position and sit back and listen to anything and go back to a team and say: 'How about this? and 'How about that?' ... If [the Bulls] don't make any big moves like that, they're still going to have a great player."

Memphis guard Derrick Rose and Kansas State forward Michael Beasley are expected to go 1-2 in the draft.

You're right. I think they acquired Gasol after the All Star break. BTW, the Celtics won game 1 of the finals. Garnett was a monster in that game.

Anything short of a Gold medal will be a disappointment, and a lot of fans will be expecting them to win all games as handily as possible.

This isnt a Dream team anymore, the U.S. teams havent been anyways since 1992. We should call it the "Redeem Team"

Redeem is a harsh word i think this is more of Dream team of this decade. If your opinion is that 1992 is a dream team don't you think the reason they formed the dream team cause they've been loosing to Russia in the olympics before.

I just think that the US doesnt have as much of an advantage anymore because simply, as US players individually became stronger and faster, they also conversely have become more playground/one on one oriented...short of my saying they have relied less and less on fundamentals and more on flash. If you're playing other NBA teams, you can pretty much overwhelm less "talented" teams but playing against today's European teams, overwhelming them with awe and talent just doesnt cut it anymore...as the Americans became less fundamentalist and more complacent, the opposite was happening with the Europeans...their fundamentals improved, as well as their team play and defense. Obviously, if these NBA "superstars" commit to re learning a little a well as giving more of a first look to playing every aspect of defense, obviously, they will have a great chance of taking back the gold. But if they continue their AND 1 ways, we're gonna be seeing the end of USA Basketball's Dream Team reign forever pretty soon I think. (Did that make sense????)...but Pat, you're right...no college players are ever gonna beat the European teams now...not unless The US re examines basketball training at th grassroots again and see where they went wrong..... = AND 1!!!!!!!!! :D :D

Speaking of which, is it possible someone begged Pop to disallow Manu to play for Argentina just to even the odds just a bit??????? :? :?

Hahahahaha, or maybe that Manu just chose to be wise, not risking his NBA career. Though both are Spurs, Pop is an American first. Besides, Argentina's chances are a lot lot slimmer now compared to '04. They now have to contend with a much improved Spanish, Greek and the favorite, team USA.

And hey! This is the first time I ever rooted for the Celts and man! They didnt dissappoint....! Game 6 to me was an example of a perfect game. Beautifully masterful execution on offense, and unrelenting and smart defensive play....You could almost see the word HEART on your TV screen!!! Im probably asking for it from Laker fans here(which I will proudly say I have always been since the 80's showtime era up until Kobe 'eased' Shaq out of LA) but you could say the opposite for LA inthe finals....they looked lost, were in a hurry to put up shots the second they reached halfcourrt(and from absurd distances at that....) and just pretty much gave it up early in the 6th game.
