For me, they cramped up too many storylines in this season. The Doyle character seems too much like Jack Bauer.
I hope Season 7 will be better since it's rumored to be a lead on to the 24 movie.

I have an inside tip from a friend who dates one of the producers.
Here are definite spoilers to happen during the season. The writers are sure about all the intermitent details, but the story will include the following twists:
-Jack’s nephew is his kid
-Ex Sec Heller will become a traitor to save Audrey
-The Chinese will kill Audrey
-Chloe dies
-Jack has a drinking problem
-at least half of congress will be killed in a blast during a session
-CIA secrets in jeopardy - Kennedy assassination, authorized torture, “collateral damage”…basically the potential downfall of the US government
-It will be the bloodiest 24 ever!
THESE ARE TRUE AND WILL HAPPEN!!! GUARANTEED!!!!!!
I doubt this cause if you've seen Day 6 season finale
these won't happen on day 7
-Ex Sec Heller will become a traitor to save Audrey
-The Chinese will kill Audrey
plus here's a message From 24 Co-Exec Producer Manny Coto
DAY 7
Jack starts next season in a very different place than any season so far. Let's put it this way: I wouldn't be surprised if there's no CTU next year. CTU has almost become too comfortable, you know? "We need to carry out this operation - Chloe, grab satellite X and get us a feed!" That's gone.
We're pulling the rug out from under our characters. It's a pretty radical shift - a totally different context with a totally different villain. There will not be a ticking clock on a nuclear device. We're hewing much closer to real life: tighter, more personal, more difficult for Jack.
There may even be a plot thread that doesn't take place on U.S. soil.
In a sense, it's a reboot - in location and personnel. We're going to be introducing a new stable of characters, along with a couple of old ones. Jack's not living under an alias. He's found a place he thinks he belongs and a job he enjoys doing that doesn't involve the government.
What's also refreshing is the choice of villain: it's not a Muslim terrorist. In fact, it's not a terrorist at all. And the character is fascinating, someone with a supremely dark past who's done something horrific. And whose ambition is to regain his stature in the world. I just can't say enough how exciting it is. It's going to be pretty damn cool.

Animated 24: Day Zero morphs animation, action and advertising
Like the Transformers, there is more than meets the eye in today's advertising, which has taken a complete turn from the days of the Philco radio hour. Now you can watch an animated series voiced by the cast of a hit television show, that is promoting an anti-perspirant.
24: DAY ZERO can be found at the official site of , and it is the animated prequel 24: Day Zero, taking place just before the very first season of the hit Fox show.
When season 6 of "24" ended, "24: Day Zero" was launched. From the producers of the live-action series, the online saga will contain nine vignettes, revealing Bauer as he teams with fellow agents Nina Meyers, Tony Almeida and George Mason to catch a treacherous mole working within CTU.
Flash-animated by Icebox, Day Zero features Kiefer Sutherland vocally reprising his role as Jack Bauer.

Day 7
On September 19, 2007 it was confirmed in a FOX press release that Tony Almeida will return in the premiere of Season 7. Show-runner Howard Gordon explained that Tony's "uncertain fate" left the door open for his return[2] and cited the lack of a silent clock as a deliberate move to keep his death ambiguous.[3] "We didn't give him the silent clock because we always wanted to keep alive the possibility for some kind of (admittedly) miraculous resurrection ... which we will explain," and followed up with "He's definitely NOT the Almeida we once knew."
