His derby is not removable, the extra head is the same extra head that came with Nick Fury.

The Hand ninja is a straight up repaint, nothing new here.

After hearing that Wave 9 is very scarce in supply in the US, I decided to bite the bullet and get the remaining figures of wave 9 locally from a shop in Greenhills called Toynuts. Very decent prices compared to other shops selling Wave 9.

Wildcat

Classic Mantis (Chase figure).

Limited articulation due to the “skirt”.

Humanoid /Modern Mantis.

Soft plastic cape, I really hope Mattel does more of this for Superman and Batman later on.

Guardian

Deadshot (another Batman villain added to the line. Smile

Black Adam.

Black Adam’s face sculpt is really great, it puts Captain Marvel to shame.

The CNC figure. Chemo.

Missing elbow and hip-spread joints limit articulation.

I love the “bubble” detail in this figure. Smile

DC Direct Blue Devil.

Another addition to the DCD JLA ranks, but I can’t say I’m too excited by this line. I really miss the painted plastic on the DC Direct figures, as opposed to the shiny plastic finish here.

Macross Frontier EX-Gear Alto Saotome.

Trays

Alto Saotome – using the new Bandai SHFiguarts type body.

Helmet – the head seems to be permanently stuck inside? I dunno, but after trying to open the Helmet halves, I ended up scratching the paint (the whole helmet is painted)… Drats!!! I recommend leaving it alone.

Pilot seat.

The seat transforms into the armor with jetpack (note that you can’t assemble the seat without the base to hold up some of the disassembled parts.

With the Armor on, the figure’s height increases by 1.5 Inches.

Lift off!

Diecast shin guards, there’s also diecast in the chest armor (the brackets that hold Alto in place).

Non-rolling skates.

Alto does his “Isamu Dyson (of Macross Plus)” Impression, just like in the show while controlling his Vf25 in Slave mode. Smile

Overall not a bad figure, just a bit too pricey at $95. Also be careful when attaching the chest plates, I broke one of the thin pegs, it doesn’t really affect the chest plates’ ability to connect but it is annoying to have such a fragile piece in such a sensitive spot.

As an extra *ahem* bonus, the females can be posed without their skirts (naughty Bandai! Wink

At last! The Hong Kong Crystal for the Gx-46! There was a second (again, limited) production run and thankfully a few good friends helped me out. Smile

The crystal shows only Aussenseiter though, no Dygenguar. The crystal is also larger than the usual release.

Hi all, I know this is a bit late but I finally managed to get the Soul Spec XS-12 Tekkaman Blade with Pegas set, here's a quick review.

Tekkaman eventually loses his ability to transform due to his crystal being shattered in battle, henceforth, it was only through merging with Pegas that D-Boy could transform into Tekkaman Blade.

Bandai cheated a little here, you can't fit in Tekkaman as is, you have to swap out the head with the unpainted dummy head due to the antennae. But I prefer to not attach a head at all, since the neck peg might get damaged with repeated wear and tear.

Pegas Flight mode

Pegas opens up just like in the Anime to allow Tekkaman Blade to pop out quickly after transforming, but sadly, there's no "eject" button or gimmick here to pop out Tekkaman Blade. (I think?).

Display base (if you'll notice above in the Tek Lancer image, you can stand the display base differently and make it look like the background prop. Smile

High Colt Voltekka

The Good
-Tekkaman's very posey!

-Height

-Diecast parts are

-The pin in Tekkaman's ankles

-Pegas' biceps, thighs (hollow) and back part of the torso.

-Pegas weighs roughly 400 Grams while the Tekkaman weighs 80-100Grams.

The Bad
-Possible breakage point? I gotta say, the long, skinny necks on those plastic wrist pegs don't look durable to me.

-Almost no diecast on Tekkaman Blade

-Unpainted extra head.

-Really hard to get the TekLancer into the fists, possible damage later due to repeated weapon swaps (just like in the SOC Battle Fever J)

The Ugly
Hmm.. nothing terrible here, just the obvious lack of diecast on Tekkaman Blade. But thankfully the toy doesn't break or anything that extreme (yet).

In conclusion, not a bad Soul Spec figure, but it is relatively very pricey. Each Spec release seems more expensive than the last and comes with less and less diecast, it is becoming disappointing to a certain level. But if you're a Tekkaman Blade fan, then this figure won't disappoint Smile
