Nice birthday present. You planning to complete the RE series? Leon may be a bit hard to acquire now.

DC DIRECT - SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SERIES 1: SUPERMAN
apparently artist curt swan's work was the peg for the latter episodes of the new adventures of superman by filmation, and being the animated junkie that i am, i just had to pick it up.

if anybody knows anymore dc direct figures that can pass for filmation animated series action figures, please let me know. (the adventures of superboy, aquaman, and the new adventures of batman)
also, one of these
you can't go wrong with 40 bucks!

Sibster - try getting some of the earlier DC Direct especially those Silver Age theme boxsets. I recommend getting the Batman and Robin boxet, The Joker and Batgirl boxset (just for the joker), Catwoman and Penguin boxset, Batwoman & Batgirl boxset (just for the Batmite), and the Unmasked Batgirl from the secret Identities series (because this batgirl is colored Grey like the filmation series). Get also the Superboy / Supergirl boxset (for superboy, and it comes with Krypto), the Superman-Lois boxset (for Lois lane), and Aquaman-Aqualad boxset. Get also the Silverage series of Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and Luthor. The style of the figures I've mention are very simple, and everybody is smiling...and they do look like animated figures. Fortunately, these figures aren't that expensive anymore I think..so it'll probably be easy to complete.

i was thinking the same thing. although i think the aquaman-aqualad boxed set sculpt is a little too detailed. superfriends aquaman comes much closer to the filmation art.
i do have bat-mite, although wasn't he green-faced in the series?
will look into your suggestions. thanks!

You're right! The filmation batmite is green....even the face and proportion of the body is different.
Hmmm, I think the detail of the aquaman boxset is just right.....and hey, at least you get the seahorse too!
