AFHUB has been privileged to be included in Mattel's official monthly "ASK MATTEL" Q&A program. I have been in communication with Mattel's "fan relations" guy, whom you will occassionally see post messages on our forum under the name "Toy Guru". This means that Mattel has a dedicated resource to work directly with adult collectors like us and fan sites such as AFHUB.

Please observe these basic rules to keep this thread in order:

1. This thread will be for posting questions only. No discussions or comments please - you can create a new thread for those.

2. Please ask only about DC toys/merchandise only. This is, after all, the DC section.

3. Only one (1) question per post. If you have several questions, put them each in its own post.

4. Please be courteous. Questions intended to slam Mattel or any of its representative will not be allowed and will be deleted immediately. In short, let's all be adults and sensible so as to make this project a successful endeavor.

Lastly, please note that not all of the questions will be answered. So please don't feel bad if yours does not get picked.

Thanks and let the questions roll...

------------------------------------------------

Update:

3 questions will be selected from the pool and submitted to Mattel every 1st and 15th of the month. The answers will be received and posted on the forum within 15 days of submission.

Here's one- Now that Mattel has acquired the master license, does this mean we'll be seeing Captain Atom, Captain Marvel and The Question in the Justice League Unlimited line?

One more- Will we be seeing new 'lines' spring from the 6" DC SuperHeroes collection? So far we've only seen Batman and Superman. Any chance for Wonder Woman? The Flash? Green Lantern?

do asian-market releases have different case assortments? i noticed that the recent local dcsh wave had a unique case ratio that was not offered on most online vendors. will this continue on?

will there be a villains/supporting cast assortment for dcsh? it seems that these are the most wanted figures at this point.

will you ever consider doing an accessories pack for the jlu line? it will go well with the 3-packs, i think.

Mattel has the Master License? Very Happy

What are the chances of us seeing more Fourth-World characters (like Orion, Kalibak, Desaad) in the DCSH line?

Thanks Smile

Any chance of doing boxsets? Playsets? Vehicles? Those old Daily Planet and Gotham City rooftops dioramas?

Also Build a Figure and maybe henchmen for "army building" would be nice additional concepts. Smile

One more thing, now that DC Superheroes can fully expand its roster, here's hoping Mattel can finally break the cycle of putting in repaints of previous figures in every wave. If A-list companies like Toybiz and DC Direct could keep putting in fresh characters for every slot in every wave, why not Mattel?

Maybe Mattel could actually take a page out of SOTA's Streetfighter series and let fans more or less vote who to put into the wave? Categorizing the wave into "slots" wasn't such a bad idea. It was nice of SOTA to include to the collectors in the selection process, instead of just having random stuff cranked out.

SOTA's SF series had slots for each wave broken down into:
-The popular one (Guile, Ryu, Ken, Akuma)
-The big, bulky one (Sagat, Birdie, T.Hawk)
-The female figure (Chun-Li, Cammy, Ibuki)
-Regular sized figure (Feilong, Adon)
-Regular sized figure (Remy, Vega)

... or something to that effect. I forgot the actual name of the categories

Oh and congrats to AFhub for being included in the Mattel program. Dance of Joy

Very Happy
Gold

I definitely agree with Gold. I do hope that mattel will consider having a BAF figure with the DCSH line (some one like Giganta, Apache Chief, Atom Smasher, or some other big character).

I've appreciate the DCSH two packs but having a box set would be even better. (i.e. Teen titans, JLU figs ala DCSH would be great).

I'm also concerned with terms of availability of the DCSH line locally. It seems that the last wave of DCSH figs were incomplete. The black suit superman, Cyborg superman, Supergirl in the blue suit, and parasite still have to make a showing on our local toy shelves. Is there anything Mattel can do to make these more available to us? (Just paid a ridiculous amount for a Blue suit Supergirl and I'm still reeling from the pain Duh )

In relation to the master list acquisition, is there any chance we’ll be getting figures of DCAU characters which we didn’t se in the JLU animated series but made appearances in the Justce League Adventures and JLU comics?

Dr. Sivana, Blue Beetle, Zauriel, Phantom Stranger, the Spectre, Ragman? Maybe even Plastic Man since he was mentioned on the show.

Will there be Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, The Question, Deadman, Mongul figures in JLU form IN the near future?

Possibility of Cadmus characters in plastic form (Galatea, Waller, The Ultimen)?

What about Batman Beyond characters in JLU mold and scale?

Or the Royal Flush Gang?

Care to clue us in on the first batch of Legion of Super Heroes figures coming out? We’ve seen the Lightning Lad sample.

Ooh, and what scale are these LOSH figures gonna be in?

Here's one:

1) We understand the need for con exclusives over in the US but is there any way to make these available to your Asian fans?

2) Does one major retailer (i.e. WalMart) dictate the case ratios for the entire productionline worldwide or could it vary for, say, Asia?

3) The Four Horsemen mentioned years back that they wanted to get a crack at Flash and his Rogues Gallery. Will they get a chance now?

Thanks for listening!

Oh! I’m sorry where are my manners?

How would you "Mattel guys" like to be addressed in this Forum?

Mr. Mattel? Toy Guru? Do you have a call sign we can use to address you with?

Thanks

First of all, thank you Mattel for picking up and continuing my favorite action figure series: Justice League Animated! You've turned me and my friends into OCD collectors ravenous for every new figure, and the line continues to stay true to the look and feel of the show.

I also second the request for the formerly 'off limits' characters like the Question, Capt Marvel, Blue Beetle, Capt Atom, etc. I think by looking at the amount of customs created by fans of the Question and Capt Atom alone, you have an idea of the popularity those figures have.

My question is this: I realize that the 'holy grail' of JLU figures, Hal Jordan, was created as a thank you to WB/DC staff, and I respect that, but you must realize that figure would be much loved by the collector market in general, to put it mildly. You've seen the ebay prices, I'm sure! Is there any way to create a version of this for us fans? If it came on a different card, wouldn't that be differentiated enough from the exclusive green card/signed by Timm? Or perhaps use the updated costume of the resurrected GL? It was noted in the panel :

Q: Can we get a JLU Hal Jordon?
A: No current plans, but if there is interest they might consider it.

Consider my interest level HIGH!

thanks again for the great line!!!

Darren
