Admittedly, it’s rather mundane to be writing about owning this particular item. Especially at this point when the Hot Toys Batman (original costume) has been circulating in the market for about a couple of months already. Well, my motivation is to thank some friends in this vicious hobby for helping make the acquisition of this toy possible. So please indulge me.
Firstly, a million thanks to Shaun Wong for actually purchasing this item for me (at a great price to boot). He also babysat this figure for about 2 months. Man, I hope I didn’t put you through too much trouble.
Next is Nelson Ang, who lent a tremendous amount of support and help in figuring out a way to transport the item from Singapore (which is where Shaun resides) to Manila. Of course, the option of shipping this via air mail or courier was always available to me. But why settle for such easy solutions when the challenge of making things difficult is far more interesting? Seriously, I didn’t want to risk damaging the piece via those means (not to mention the equally risky business of having to deal with customs).
Last but certainly not the least is Eric Chan (edc) who actually did the hardest part - hand-carrying the boxes home from Singapore. He happened to be there for the recent F1 Singapore event, and he was nice enough to go meet up with Shaun and pick this up.
So as you can see, 3 grown men went through a lot to give this grown man his toy. I have every reason to gloat - because great friends are very hard to find :-)
Big thanks to all you guys.
