MOTUC Grizzlor & King Grayskull (v2)

The Masters of the Universe classics train keeps on rolling along, and at this pace, it shows no sign of slowing down. Fresh off of last month’s Mattycollector.com’s offerings, I proudly present card-carrying member of the Evil Horde, Grizzlor, and King Grayskull, version 2.

First up, let’s take a look at Grizzlor. Originally, he was planned to have a swappable head, with an alternate version that resembled his 200X look, as seen on the Grizzlor Staction. Alas, the powers that be put the kybosh on those plans, but we still get a very cool version of Hordak’s walking carpet. True to his original version, Grizzlor sports real fur and some heavy re-use of Beastman and Chief Carnivus parts.

What else needs to be said? He’s fun, furry, and looks great!

For those who missed out on the very first offering in this line, King Grayskull remained one of the very few figures that didn’t get a reissue. Keeping to their pledge to not devalue the original, Mattel found a way to make him look great while offering some added value to those who not only needed this character, but also wanted to complete their collection with both versions. The good king now sports a brighter cape with white flocked fur accents. Additionally, he includes both male and female halves of the Power Sword, and a translucent version that turns to clear blue, with little metallic flakes imbedded inside. And let’s not forget the Power Orb and shield! I still think it would be very cool if Mattel offered a variant down the line that resembled the statue chase version. Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he? Enjoy!
