Heath Ledger wins Golden Globe

Late actor Heath Ledger wins a posthumous Golden Globe for his portrayal of The Joker in last year’s blockbuster movie The Dark Knight.

The announcement of Heath Ledger’s name as the winner for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture was met with a standing ovation. Ledger was up against some of the biggest Hollywood names which include Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Ralph Fiennes and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The award was accepted by The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan who gave a very poignant speech.

This was something I (along with millions, I’m sure) had been hoping for. I expected no less and I’m elated that Heath Ledger was given the award he truly deserved.
