Mattels’ Scott Neitlich takes the time to answer some of our latest questions based on their Toy Fair 2008 showing.

DC INFINITE HEROES

AFHUB: When are these expected to hit store shelves?

MATTEL: The end of summer.

AFHUB: What is the price range customers should expect to see these in?

MATTEL: Singles will be around $5.99, three packs at $15.99.

JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED

AFHUB: What are the target dates of release for the new JLU figures?

MATTEL: The end of summer.

AFHUB: With Target being the exclusive source for future JLU figures, is Mattel going to do anything to address the needs of collectors outside the US?

MATTEL: Currently the JLU program is an in store exclusive. We totally understand there is a large collector group outside the US. At the moment, the best way we were able to get new JLU figures out was through this US domestic program with Target. We will continue to work with Target to try and find ways of bringing this line to the larger collector base world wide.

DCUC

AFHUB: Will some of the characters shown under the Infinite Heroes line make it to the DCUC scale? If yes, will they be based on the same sculpt or totally different?

MATTEL: The sculpts in the IH line are not from the Four Horsemen. All of the DCUC figures will continue to be Four Horsemen sculpts. The reason you are seeing different characters in the IH line and the DCUC line is simply to have as many different characters at retail at the same time. Thinking of it as switching teams. One year a figure may appear in one line, the next year he or she may be seen in another line. We make a conscious effort not to double up the same figures in every single line. With over 3,000 figures in the DCU that is a lot of a characters to play with! So yes, characters in the IH line may show up in another line in 2009 and vica versa.

THE BATMAN (animated series)

AFHUB: What are future characters we can look forward to? Seems nothing was revealed about this line during Toy Fair.

MATTEL: At the moment we do not have future figures to reveal. Much like with JLU, once we have plans to announce we will let fans know! Again, much like JLU, Mattel recognizes that their is a large following for Batman animated figures.

THE DARK KNIGHT (movie toys)

AFHUB: When are these expected to hit store shelves?

MATTEL: 5/1/08

AFHUB: Will there be 12-inch figures? What characters will be made in this scale?

MATTEL: Yes. There will be a 12 inch roto figure of Batman in this line exclusive to Toys R Us.
